We are Stardust We are golden The elements formed from the Big Bang /Quantum Evolution /Elegant Universe /etc were Hydrogen and Helium. This is the fuel for stars, which then through nuclear fusion created all elements on the periodic table heavier than Helium. 99% of the human body is made up of 6 elements: Oxygen (65%), Carbon (18%), Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Calcium, and Phosphorous. Since stars made every element except Hydrogen, then we humans are made from matter that was created inside stars. In fact, most objects other than stars in the Universe are made of stardust.
