I don't have the luxry of a outside vent, but I was wondering if a carbon filter would work as good if it was fan+filter in my closet?

I have 2 sprouts from some purple weed (bag seed), I hope they go better than my 1st attempt with a DIY DWC (was AK47)... I'm going soil this time with jiffy-mix and 1/4 perlite

it wont work as well, definitely will not help to control overall temps, you need to vent outside and get the hot air out. you can build a box around your grow and vent into the living space and that would work.

NoDrama, i think he means will the carbon filter still work to control the smell, i have no experience with carbon filters, however logically it makes sense to me that it would still help to nuetralize the smell.

It will work fine but you might have temp control problems. Just make sure that your grow room gets plenty of fresh air pulled into it.

I'ts an apartment with only 2 plants max in it but I cannot vent outside and cannot build a box in this closet so this has nothing to do with temp control. I will have to figure out something else for that.

But as long as the carbon filter will work in this manner i'll be happy.
