Had some trouble getting some decent macros with my dSLR so I tried out the 'ole point n' shoot and came up with some pretty okay stuff. So here goes.

400w HPS closet grow. Ocean Forest. Big Bloom. Molasses for the girls.

2 ladies basking in the HPS. I heard its not good to chop leaves in flower, should I keep those lower leaves that are starting to dry up?



4 Plants that have been vegging for just about 4 and a half weeks.. 1 Skywalker that I'm suspecting is a male. 1 Pineapple Punch and 2 that hasn't shown yet.



Suspected male. The only skywalker seed I germinated. Picture doesnt it do it much justice but I've circled what I think is a ball forming.

Okay so looking at this post again, I realized I may have a little heat stress going on. You can really tell in the 3rd picture down, with all the leaf tips starting to curl. Is my diagnosis correct?

Hi that looks pretty good for a 1st grow. It COULD be too hot. You know what i found....I get a different reading on my thermo depending on where I put it. I see yours on the wall. Try to put it close to the canopy for the most acurate measure.
Are they getting enough water? My plants are droopy like that when they're thirsty. Warm temps compound this problem.

Yeah we just recently moved up our thermo sensor.. may have to go up again, along with our lights. The ones that are flowering have been getting watered almost twice a day they've been sucking up water and nutes like crazy. We test with moisture meters so we're not overwatering. Thanks for the advice and comments.


Anyone else? These girls getting too hot you think?

when did u started with big bloom nutes like how big was yo plant check my pics on the plant forum look up my name dopeboi420 tall if i should start the big bloom ,im using grow big oh and also i got tiger bloom help im a first timer too .

We've actually been using big bloom since it was mature enough to take nutes (Back in veg). We probably should have used grow big in veg but they didn't seem to mind. We started flowering when they were about 13 inches tall. I'd say yours are ready, depending on your height limitations. We've only got a closet to work with so we didn't want to wait too long to flower and end up having space issues towards the end. This is my first grow so I don't know first hand how much bigger plants get over the course of the flowering stage, but I've heard that they can triple in size, so we wanted to keep them rather short. This is all new to me too man, so I understand your questions and concern. We just want the best for our babies. I hope I could help. Oh and we paid 250 for a 400w ballast, HPS bulb, and MH conversion bulb, so I say 150 is a steal. Good luck and happy growing!

Your plants show signs over overwatering and/or over fert.

The burnt leaves in one of those pics is a dead ringer for nute burn. Also in the last pic I noticed a few of the plants drooping, which is a sign of overwatering (potential root rot).

How often are you watering?

How much nutes are you giving?

Heat would not be burning the bottom leaves like that.

I would recommend giving your plant some plain water with fish emulsion to balance out your Nitrates, to avoid what may be in the process of a salt-lock created from your other ferts.
