ive got 1 digi and 1 coil and core ballast. the digital is sooo much better. i can have it running for hours and still touch it without screaming like a lil girl from the 3rd degree burns i would have if i did the same thing to my coil and core. and i can run both HPS and MH from that 1 ballast. the startup time is almost none. i hit the on switch and the light comes on within 5 seconds. all in all it was worth the extra 100.00 it cost more than the coil and core.

Im interested in upgradeing to the digital ballast because of the efficiency and bulb life savings.My old ballast dont get hot they get warm from the touch but the buzz does gett annoying.

i got a 400w w/digi ballist from htg about about 2 weeks ago and ive got to say im quite impressed...i dont have anything else to go off of as i am new to this game but i have mine in a closet in a 2x3 space and its awsome i dont have an air cooled reflector and heat is not even close to a problem. quite as a mouse. for those who are not finatially strapped i would highly recomend
