Default ebb and flow w/ rockwool
alright i've got my set up goin and i'm about 3 weeks into growing, i'm using a 600w hps light on a 18/6 light schedule. Started using nutes at 1/4 stregnth. Plants are doin alright, one question i had is with the rockwool should i have the top of them covered by the clay balls or just sitting in them. Any help would be much appreciated.

It's fine if they're just sitting there, but in a few weeks the roots are going to get much bigger and it's going to get much heavier on top during flowering, then you'll want to keep some hydroton (or whatever you're using), around the rockwool so that the plant doesn't fall over under it's weight. You may want to do it now if they're becoming too top-heavy.

Some people tie string or some support to the colas on their plants to make sure that they don't topple over or just use rockwool with another support system (bamboo, etc.)

one more question if anyone could answer me i'm watering about once a day however in the bottom of my tub it seems that not all the water is draining back down to the res. theres prob about and inch sitting around the clay rocks. so the rockwool isn't necessarily completely soaked by the water, but still any help would be much appreciated,
