10/14 lighting in the last 3 weeks.

I have heard that in the last 3-4 weeks of flower, you can switch to a 10/14 lighting schedule and it will help to finish off the plants a little earlier with nice resin production and not sacrifice much yield.

Anyone ever used this before?

i am flowering with a 400 watt hps at 12/12 for about 3.5 weeks as of right now...

I plan on switching back to my MH bulb weeks 6-8 and only giving 8hrs of light, and go severely low humidity... this from what i heard will bomb resin production to a ridiculous rate...

Then in my last week I am going to go back to hps on 12 hr schedule to amber the crystals and harden off the plants... My hydro shop guy does this to good results and told me to do it...

anyone disagree, or agree for that matter?

I wa talking to a friend the other day and he told me that if you put your light schedule from 12/12 to 8 hrs light 16 hrs dark (for 2-3 weeks before harvest like u said) that your buds will get sticky and more dense. ne1 else here this?

I have read in the growers bible about that 10/14 and they say no good, but as for the rest of the forum talk and what your hydro guy says, Its allways worth a shot so you know for a fact if it works or not, and please let me know what happens.

I've heard it will speed up the end time. Haven't tried it though, sorry. Give it a shot if you need to otherwise, let it ride...

If you do it from the start of flower, then you will for sure sacrifice yield, but if you stick to 12/12 until the last 2-3 weeks and then go to 10/14 the plants should finish with really nice resin production from what i have heard. And with almost no loss in yield.

I'm on day 27 or so and switched to 11/13 today, and in about 7-10 days will move to 10/14. I figured this would be a nice little transition, I will let you guys know what I think.

I am interested.. I may try this. Only on day 6 of flowering at 12/12 and my three plants
are 19 - 27 inches for the largest of the three. I've been thinking about increasing the dark and lowering the light hours slightly.
