Default The Future Now!
LED Grow Lights will:
  • Put a lot of light on a small space
  • Reduce power consumption
  • Cut your maintenance costs
  • Replace noisy lights and ballasts
  • Complement existing HPS lights
  • Replace fluorescent and incandescent grow lights
  • Reduce heat output
LED grow lights combine the gentleness of fluorescents with the growing power of HIDs. Our lights are warm to the touch. Our lights have a recommended useful lifetime of 50,000 hours for red lamps- the equivalent of 18 hours a day, 365 days a year for seven years and seven months.

WHY LEDs MAKE BETTER PLANT LIGHTS

Plants do not use all parts of the spectrum equally. This is because photosynthetic pigments like chlorophyll and carotene absorb light very strongly at particular wavelengths. Using the right colors in the proper proportions, nearly any desired spectrum may be produced with LEDs.Here is a graph showing how the spectrum of LED Grow Lights is very close to that of the absorption spectrum of chlorophyll, a plant's primary energy collecting pigment. Also, the peak of the spectrum of our red grow lights coincides with the peak of the photosynthetic response curve. This ability to match spectrums allows LEDs to produce light that plants can use very efficiently.

These are the lights of the future, im going to do numerous test's on these and collect information to figure out maximum yeilds and see if they truly work.
i did not write the info above i copyed it from this site:
LED Grow Lights.com Home Page

Here is another website on LED lights:
LED Grow Lights for Plants and Planet

(this is good for user's who are paranoid about cost of electric bill and cops etc.. these are very low-key)

who else is with me i already know a couple people who are interested. I think you could make a Big grow op with these without the worries of cops, cost, heat. They are perfect. They are a bit costly for LED's but im buying alot of them.
You can also put them meer Inch's away from the plants, near no heat.
The spectrum that they use is unlike HID's a SUPERhps light bulbs, they dont produce massive heat, and use a meer 9 watts per bulb, they plug into a normal light bulb socket and use no ballast.
This is the perfect future weapon for those involved in the war on drugs.
Basicly undetectible, no power spikes. If you used 100 of them thats 900watts... you get the idea.

- Here are some Results - (regular plants)

Cherry Tomatoes
These were grown from seed under our LED Grow Lights

TIP: Increasing the amount of blue light can help contain trailing, sprawling or aggressive plants

Vines from 2 plants, each in 12-inch pots.

If they grow tomato's like that they can grow pot.

Here is a Side by Side compairason HIDvsLED.

LED LIGHTING

These lights are better then i thought.

there are some pictures of these Tiny lights that pack a punch.
Im picking some up AsAp.

O im going to, im picking a set up as soon i can! if they do what they say they can... one 9watt LED light is the same as using a 250HPS or MH.....
but the penetration isent the same, but thats why you put them on every possible angle so the whole plant gets light.

9watts that = 250watts HID power....

so if i had twenty 9watt LED lights... thats 5000watts of HID power using only 180watts so its drawing less then one 250watt but its using the same power as 20 250watt HPS bulbs....
this is extremly good results, the spectrums are perfect match for photosyn... meaning its going to use all the blue that the LED lights give, and all the red it gives... HPS bulbs give off a Yellow Spectrum.. and very little red.... LED lights give basicly 100% red spectrum.... no other lights can do what these LED lights can.

But since the light does not penitrate.... im going to use 400watt HPS and then the LED lights, this combination should work flawlessly.... i cannot wait

I thought about doing the same as above to compliment my 400W HID but the price seems so prohibitive still.

yeah its pricey, but the Spectrum is more important then the intensity... LED give the right spectrum so really there would be no reason to "risk it" since it has grown tomato's in the pics above.... tomato's are way harder to grow then weed....

sounds a lot like the marketing of a good salesman, gone first believe in this if i see someone growing with the stuff successful. and by the way, i read a few days a go a article at work about led's in future with an interview in with the head of research of osram, hope you knew that company, the make the best cfl's you can buy for money. he stated in this interview that it will take another 5 to 10 years until led will be able to compete with the power of currently available high end lights such as even cfl's. getting it? so i wait a bit longer and stick to in my HPS meantime if you don't mind

lol hps gives out the right spectrum too whats ur point?

im just sayin im not gonna risk it till they are more out there and more data available.

and the lifeexpactency i don't buy at all, the 3 or 5W LED in my surefire broke down after year of on and of use and for sets of batteries, so not even close to the 15,000h the granted for it. and i got no replacement since the "don't give garanties on bulbs" so somuch to surefire by the way

Yes,

Here is more info for your L.E.D. studies.
Based on documents obtained from General Electric and research done, here are the specifications for the 1000w Lucalox grow lamp.

1000 watts total rated output
-730 watts output in IR range(heat)
270 watts yielded as plant growth light

Of that 270 watts, 162 are in the white light range (primarily yellow and green) which is inefficiently used by plants. the other 108 watts of light energy is supplied for general plant growth on high efficiency wavelengths.

Thus the total growing energy of the 1000watt bulb is a measley 124 watts per bulb ( 108 direct energy + 16 low efficiency).
