What up rollitup? This is my first actual grow and I believe I have done pretty well up until this point, but I am about to start flowering and i had a few questions/ concerns. I started my seed in a small plastic red cup initially but then transplanted into a little larger ceramic pot. I left it in here for the first two and a half weeks or so because I seriously underestimated root growth. Then I got some super dank organic potting soil at home depot and got some perlite for aeration, and transplanted into the pot that is seen below. My setup right now for veg is two cfl's- one blue spectrum (90w) and a red spectrum (120 w) in a 10 " light dome fixture coming out of a y adapter so the light can be more concentrated. it has been on 18/6 lighting since she was a little seedling and I about to switch over to 12/12, but will I need more lights? I planned on getting another 120 w red spectrum floro, but what do you guys think? cant go mh or hps... too hot. I had this in a bunch of different setups, but its in a white 5 gallon bucket insulated with aluminum foil for right now. Is there anything (aluminum tape, mylar,) that will refract light better. The buckets inside is white ,but this does not have the same effect as white matte paint does it? Also, my nutes are foxfarm big grow and big bloom. about to start flowering so how much of the big bloom should i be using. Also, I believe its an indica/ sativa cross maybe or just an indica by the tight node spacing and the alternating nodes, but what do you think? I dont know exactly what I am doing considering this is my first time, but any feedback is great. Thanks . peace and stay irie.

pic 1: at two and a half weeks weeks just after transplant
pic 2: one month (today) growing fast
pic 3: One month, the leaves are incredible

thank you

Good move on the transplant. I really underestimated my roots on the first grow and had to transplants 3 times. My plants were mad.

A couple suggestions though.

First Use Mylar. You can get it at your local indoor lighting/grow shop or order it off the internet. 15-20 bucks will get you all you need.

Second your probably need more lights. I didn't catch how many plants you said you had but you probably need more. More is always better. Look for the larger full spectrum CFL's. They usually are 55w or above and usually run about 25 dollars a piece. You can order them off 1000bulbs.com if you cant find them locally.

My last suggestion is that you top your plant(s). Doing this will transform your single stemed plant into a 2+ stemed plants thus producing more area for beautiful buds to grow. You do this by cutting off the top sprout right above the highest node. You will need to do some research on your own but you will probably want to use the FIM method (Fuck I Missed.) Check it out, it will greatly benifit you.

Top them, give them a few weeks to make sure they have recovered then switch them into flowering. Another trick is to focus your light on the sides of your plants leaving no direct light above your plants. This will encourage them to grow up more instead of out.

Good luck bro.

thank you empyrean. i liked what you had to say. this is my first and only plant though so i am worried about trying to top her. i induced flowering two nights ago i believe. that is my only concern. but the light situation needs to be improved. Im going to pick up some more red spectrum and/ or full spectrum bulbs like you recommended. is it where it should be at one month growthwise?

I think your size is ok, With the bigger planter, increased light and increased watering you will see a jump in your plants growth.

This was taken a few weeks ago. http://www.rollitup.org/indoor-growing/6952-update-my-grow.html
My shelf is now raised almost to the top and the lights are pulled up high. The more lights the faster you go....

Light = Life

I dont have HPS because of heat... I think my CFL's are working great. They will work good for you with the right amount. There are links on the post to lights that I use. The ones I suggested to you.
