Just a couple quick questions i have for more experience growers.
First of all. Im proficeint electronically. I can solder, wire, build, most devices provided a schematic. I understand the basic parts and fucntions of an HPS ballast, the transformer, capacitor, ignitor, and socket. This all seems simple and managable. My question is, if i got matching parts for the correct sized bulb and used ample wiring and did it all up cleanly, is this gunna be safe? It seems like proffesionally made ballasts must include more than just those three parts, and have saftey/heat protection circuits etc? Or are they really this simple. Because i can easly wire up those basic parts and if people think its safe enough it seems to be quite cost effective.


Secondly,

Im coming up on transplanting more of my plants, and am in the process of selecting the new pots. I've seen alot of long rectangular pots that look like they might be usefull in my situation.

This is a quick diagram of how my setup will look in the end hopefully.



If i got these pots im looking at, they're about 10inches deep by 7-8inchs, and put say 3-4 plants to a container, would this be a problem? I dont plan on letting my plants get more than a 1.5ft tall, so root bind isnt a concern. I figure it would help on matenience and watering, any thoughts? They are long rectangular pots by the way, prolly 2-3 ft long.
