whats a flood light i hve my plants under one and it still bends torwards it like the sun

Flood lights are shit for growing get a MH or HPS or failing that some CFL's.

i found out what they are, it spreads out the light. well all my leaves get light i guess till i can buy a diffrent light

Yup thats a confusing Q!

If its a halogen type flood/security light that people use in their yards, its the wrong kinda light...halogens suck, and are about as effective as stuffing a bunch of candles in there.
If its a Floodlight with 4 pin CFL type bulbs in it, those work fine for the canopy, but you'll still need a shit load of additional CFLs for the sides of the plant....
You can buy 4pin PLC (CFL type flood light bulbs) in 2 colors, 6500k and 2700k.. so theyre good for veg and flowering.
The best CFL floods to use are the ones that hold 2 bulbs, so you can mix spectrums, or give a final boost during flowering with 2 2700k bulbs, but bare in mind you'l need 1 flood light for each canopy, so i you have six small plants for example, thats alot of wattage to be using to get minimal results, a 150+W hps, would be cheaper to buy and use, with much greater results.

pic 1 is a halogen flood/security light...if its one of these, ditch it...and buy plenty CFLs as theyll do much better.


Pic 2 is a CFL flood light that uses 2 or 4 pin PLC bulbs.
cheap to run, great for seedlings/small plants and helpful for supplemental light during veg/flower. I have flowered using these with good results, but you still need an adequate amount of CFLs around the sides of the plants.

Plus you can buy these pretty cheap on ebay.


I'm not gonna enter the CFLs suck/HPS rule debate..I use both, and they both work very well if you do it right....But if you really want to use floods of some description , save your greenbacks and buy an HPS/MH

dude, it sounds like your in way over your head.... do some research, people get pissed when someone comes on and expects people to hold their hand all the way through, and explain every little thing. take some time and research, decide what you want to do, and implement your design. you can't just wing it and expect to get anything you'll want to smoke.
