ok, i check my ph in the water/nutes i add, but check the runoff? lets say the runnoff is high, do i water/nutes with a lower than average ph to bring down my soils ph? anyone have a good post on this topic, or a good description?
I'll reply for you mate.
What is your pH?
I'm an amateur environmentalist still studying. (should be studying atm =p)
Check your runoff pH, (and do you mean does the water sink through the soil at a high rate or is your pH a basic of your water?)
Check everything you adds pH
so soil,
fertilizers,
water,
nutrients,
If the problem of high pH is just situated to the soil, I suggest changing soils. But solutions are very limited when we don't know what your pH is.

The PH in your runoff will ussually be more acidic or the the same because as your plant uses the nuts it puts off salts into the soil, which will make the ph of your soil more acidic and therfore the runoff cause the water goes through the soil. If you have used the soil before it probally be more acidic then new soil and you should add some lime or ph up.
