Starting a Grow

Well this is my 1st actual grow. With help from a trustable knowlegable friend a book & a high school friend who runs a Hydro store, my grow has started.

After germing 3 days I have 8 pretty little seedlings. (Bagseed to see if I can handle something better)

Right now they are growing in Grodan's mini grow cubes
and Im using Botanicare's Pure Blend Pro Grow. 1 1/2 tsp. per gallon.
They are on a 18/6 veg cycle.
Under 2 32w 5000k Flourecent lights
Mylar behind the plants and infront of said plants

I planted inthe mini cubes 2 days ago and have shot up at least 1 inch since yesterday.

My set up is ghetto, but it should work for me right now.

Sounds like you are in a perfect position. I would love to have a friend with a Hydro store. Is he giving you a nice discount?

A semi good one so far. Botanicare and Grodan I only spent $25 ( 1/2 off)

I know I will be needing better lights but I have a little time and with my son fracturing his leg money is a little tight. Thanks G.B. for my stimulis check that bought me a few things i needed for this.

One question, When watering. I see that I am going to be watering every 2 days seeing how the upper cubes dry out. Do I use nutes every watering or every 2nd watering. I plan on doing a little experiment with the grow cubes minus the seedling and to see how fast the top/bottom dry out under the light.

I believe every water, but I'm not for sure. The cfl's will be fine for veg, so don't have to worry about hps yet.

But definatly HPS for flowering? or MH?

hps is best for flowering IMO. But if you have both, use hps for most of flower then the last 2 weeks of flowering replace it with the MH. I say this because with the hps you will get best growth and yield overall, but for those last 2 weeks, the MH lamp emits more UVB light resulting in better THC content. Better potency =)

I came home in a hurry, rushed to get my digi to tale pics and spray bottle. ran to my grow room.

and

BAM!

I have to wait another hour till my lights come on.
