what is the best type/watt of lighting for veging seedlings? I currently have them under 20w multi spec flouro and a 26w cfl. its working out pretty well but id like to see what you guys are using.

Well I have about 300w of cool tubes for my mothers and clones. I don't veg very long or I would use the MH bulb, but I would rather have my two 400w HPS flower chambers.

So do you actually root clones under that much light? how close do you have em, I use a single 26w 6500k cfl to root clones.

well it's for my mothers & clones, all one area really and that's the only veg they get. The area is 4x3x3 and tubes are on all sides (except door). like I said it's mainly cool blue tubes, but I also have 2 42w cfls in there as well. it's actually exactly 300w (4(80w)+4(14w)+2(42w)).

blinkykush, temps could be better, high around 84ºF though so it's not killer. I'm upgrading my ventilation system into my a/c as soon as current ladies finish in a couple weeks.

yeah i was in a temp battle for awhile, then i just added a 6'' inline fan intake boost, brings in my house AC which is always 70 degrees.... It fixed things with my t5. when i add my 400 hps and 250 hps is a different story. I plan to exaust and air cool the 2 hoods through the attic thus not to effect my ambient grow room temp... so we will see here is my room now if ya guys care to look........... but royal if you can swing a couple of t5's they are working really well for me you can price them here T5 Fluorescent & HID Grow Lights for Plants from ACF Greenhouses
