so i have a insulated box outside on my balcony and it rained today. little did i know i missed a spot with the foam insulator (on the celing of course) and rain water poured in all over my cfl grow lights but none of them failed in any way!!! so just for all of thoes growing with cfl, rain will not blow them or really hurt the ballest. my lights were saturated... but maybe i got lucky who knows?

try not to duplicate the event. i doubt those lights are waterproof. good luck indeed.

im a general contractor through spring and summer, and i get into alot of electrical work.

I want you to know, you ARE VERY lucky. Do not put your lights back out in the rain unless the fixtures themselves as well as plug receptacle are 100% dry. This is not safe and they are NOT waterproof. You will start a fire, or get zapped, you could die and possibly kill others.

does anyone no if I can put some cfl lights for more whatts with my metal hilade High sodium bulb. Is this good for veg and flower
