Default Sour Diesel 9.5 weeks into Flower...
Hey Guys,

Just about done with my first grow, 2000 watt Sour Diesel grown from clone. Buds look real nice, I have clipped a bit and smoked it... and it's good weed. I am sure it will be alot better when dried properly (used a microwave) Anyhow, I got a 30X microscope and most of the trichomes are pretty cloudy, but not much amber to be found. The person I got the clones from told me he finds 65 days works well, I am curious if he chops early considering I am at 65 days now and can't spot many amber glands on the ladies.

Of course, letting them go to 20% amber increases the "couch lock" feeling that herb produces, and I have read in several places that letting a sativa go to that point is kind of contradicting that "up high" that you are looking for from a sativa to begin with. Curious what you guys think. Do most of you let your sativas go until 20% amber? Heres a few pictures from about a week ago.

I don't wait for amber resins. I look at several things, one is that the resins are cloudy. Since you're there, watch for a change in the appearance of the bud, the calyxes will plump up, and the trichomes will glisten. With sativas like you have, I've noticed that it happens pretty quickly, when you think they're not close yet, suddenly they're ripe.

Nice job!

Thanks friend! My resins are definitely mostly cloudy (with a chance of smoking) as of right now, so I am going to keep a close eye on the bunch. For now I have two drying in my closet (nice and dark, have the ceiling fan on in the room outside closet) so those should be nice and dry soon. As for the most of the group, unfortunately I have to mostly do them all at the same time so I can hang them in the grow room as I prepare for my next grow. Suppose more room could be made in the closet, but I don't want to fill my room up with herbs just yet! Thanks!

That depends on how much your local power company charges per kilowatt however I am paying around 220 a month for the two. (super high electrical prices here, that won't apply to most places) I grew 29 plants under the 2000 watts, but I vegged for a tad too long (flowered when they were 18 inches tall) Things got a bit crammed, but it looks real nice..and I've smoked some, it's tasty for sure.
