Default Newbie experimenting
Hey im a newbie but have been reading the forums trying to soak up all the knowledge possible. I got 4 clones in a 4x4 rockwool cube that is in week 4. growing fairly fast and i have them under 3 T5s. Here is the problem. Two of the T5s are the bloom spectrums and the last is the grow spectrum. This is all i have so i decided to use all three for the veg cycle since 3 lights is better than one. Is this ok? Seems to be doing fine though. Second problem is that i notice roots are growing through the bottom of the rockwool cubes. Should i put them into bigger rockwool cubes or place the original rockwool cubes into a bigger pot with soil. I called a local store and the biggest rockwool cubes they have is 6x6 which is only two inches bigger then what they are in now. So i was planning to put them into soil and a pot. Is there a common brand that would work great? I don't know what type of soil to look for or don't know how to ask somebody at the store without them getting suspicious. Last question, the clones are almost 12" tall and im kinda in a rush to flower them so i think im gonna change the light cycle next week. I'm looking to buy bloom nutes. The local hydroponic store sells advance nutes, humboldt nutes, dutch master nutes, and canna nutes. anybody recomend a certain product that is relatively cheap? I've heard big bud bloom liquid under advance nutrients is good but it's only 0-2-4. i thought it had to be somewhere near 5-15-15 for flowering? any advice is aprreciated. thanks.

Its all good about the bloom n grow tubes . But you can get 2 more grow tubes for like 12 something dollars each? o.O at ur local hydro store. Anyway you could either go into bigger rockwools or into soil depending on what you wanna do, rockwools are good for hydroponincs applications also good for starting in soil. Alot of diff people like different soils . I personally use organic soil by MG, n then some local nursey mix soil. Other people like fox farm soils, or other brands, they can be mixed wit perlite to make it more airy, n the water goes thru faster doesnt hold as much. Or coco coir. Lots of different things you can do to tell you teh truth. Its good to ask professionals on what works well for ur situation. You never tell them exactly for ur growing tho. You could just ask what a good recommended soil is for growing. Same with nutes, they will actually be very imforative. For awhile i even forgot that he really DIDNT kno what i was growing even tho he did lol!! They kno n will help to teh best of their abilities.

yeah i was thinking about buying one more grow tube because i have one more space. You think a 6x6 cube is big enough for the plant's entire life? I'll probably try MG organic soil mix since it's pretty cheap and easy to get. But i'll check with the local hydroponic store too. I got another slight problem that i ran into. 2 of the 4 clones have drooping leaves and seem to be darker green than the other 2. I figure the dark green is because of the strain but could i be overwatering the plants causing the leaves to droop? I water every other day 200 ML to each plant. Haven't used nutes yet but plan to when i flower them. Is 12" the minimun height for flowering? I have 5 weeks left to do this so im kinda in a rush. 3 of the 4 are in the 10-13" range so should i start the 12-12 cycle? i have it on a 20-4 cycle right now.

As far as the 6x6 being big enuff for their whole life, depends on how big they get, u can always get bigger tho so no worries. Droopy could be over watering dont water for a day or more let the rockwool or soil dry completely out before watering again that way the roots stretch. N that should get better the yellow could be nitro def, not sure tho. Nutes can fix that. Heres a link that was giving to me by Enigma!! thanks enigma

You can start flowering 2 weeks after sprout.. Height does not matter. I personally get mine to 12 inches unless its that kinda strain where it wont move that high until flowering!! But either way i try to give amonth of vegatative growth so i can get a nice yeild. Still waiting on my first one. I'm having nute def probs at the moment as well! Ughness

The sun puts out both spectrums of light. The sun's light is the best you can get. Hence, running blue and red spectrum lights is the best thing to do. However, with HID growers, this is rare because it can become very costly.

What causes leaves to curl at the tips? I'm gonna try going a day or two without water to fix the drooping. and maybe the curling too?
