K new grower running (4 23 watt 6500k bulbs and have 4 23 watt 2700k bulbs for flowering) I'm planting with bagseed so I'm starting with about 10 seed to try to get about 6 good seeds to germ and out of the 6 hope 3-4 are fem. There's one problem tho the damn seeds won't germ. I mean I did the moist paper towel in a bag and keep it warm and its been like that for like 3 days. I had three that cracked open and I just threw them in the soil with the tiny root hanging out the seed facing down and I was hoping to see sprout in three days but nothing. With the remaining 7 seeds they haven't didn anything. Right now I have them in the dis. water in a warm dark place. I mean does it normally take that long. I have the three seeds in a pot under the 4 6500k bulbs and when I say under the ligt is about 1.5" from the soil. What's the deal

It can take up to 10 days, using bagseed some will not germ, i started with probobly 10 myself, had only 6 germ.

Give them more time, if they don't after a good 10 days, then chunk them, and get better seeds.

I've had a bad start too...normal.. Can't always win. You should let the seed sprout about an inch before planting. It will be stronger and have root hairs. I keep them at room temp. till the're in soil and just starting to show above ground

put them in ph'd water to soften their shell for two days then put into papertowels, 90% germ rate for me.

just plant them in those peat pellets things from home depot or wal-mart. I get almost all my seeds to germ except for like 1 or 2 out of 10 and they all grow with root hairs already.

Wow I never have had a seed take 10 days. Had one take 8 and that was too much I thought. Anyway I had 100% this last time from WW. This is how I do it. 1st ph spring or r/o water. I use a long seed planter with dome. I have a seed germinating pad. Bought it off e-bay forn 15 bucks. Put a layer of paper towels on the bottom folded about 3 times. Wet them down and then lay the seed on the layers and put same layer over the top and wet. I put my pad on a hot water heater and then the tray and dome on top. From 24 to 72 hour most seeds will germ.The dome keeps the moister in and little need for anymore unless it gets very warm where they are. In my place it never got above 75 mostly 72. I had 2 seed that where very stubborn. One took 6 days the last 8 and I believe it got a little dry over that time. On day 5 I drenched the last 2 seeds and they came out and are in my tank now. Well that was long enough and my 2 cent, good luck

Ok getting a little frustrated.

Ok so of couse 4/20 is long gone and my lungs are slowly recovering from the smoke. (Woke up last night choking: thought I was gona die) but yesterday my boi hands me 8-10 moere seeds. And I decided that I was gonna try these seeds to germ them. Right off the bat I sent them straight to the ph'ed water and this morning all of them had sank to the bottom of the cup. So I hit them with the paper towel and kept them on the dash of my car for about 10 hours and it was nice and toasty of the dash. It wasn't too hot, but warm. I just came from my car cause the suns going down and NOTHING!!! Man can yo boi bget things started here what am I doing wrong. Don't tell me to buy those expensive a$$ seeds on the net cause its a rip-off, the seeds may get seized and still may not germ. Should I just keep them on the dash I have them is the plant room in the bag with the paper towel thing going on and I not patient enough. I mean I got weed to burn but I wanna get my own grow journal going. PLZ HELP!!!

make sure the seeds are brown and not white

Yeah all my seeds are a drown to almost gray color. Not to dark tho, but could it be the process I'm doing it or is it more than likely bad seeds. I mean if it is bad seeds then I'm like 0 for 16 as far as germ. I did this shit in grade school and it was never this hard. Of course it wasn't weed but ya get the drift
