Could someone use a 500w type T3 Lamp Max work light. It's AC only/120V, 60 Hz. It's one of those little orange work lamps that have a grill in front of the lamp reflector and bulb. I'm new so go easy on me.....lol

You could use it but its not the best. Are you wanting to use it for veg or both veg and flowering?

I would get a mh for veg and a hps for flowering. HTH

I'm wanting to make this first grow simple, so I can learn as much as possible. So if I could get away with using one light for the entire grow (seed to harvest) I'd be happy with that. I have two 26w grow bulbs now (came with the system) and will have (coming in the mail soon) four 48" 40w grow lamps in an all white storage cabinet. But I figured if it would help then I'm all for it. I just don't want to hurt my babies.

I think if you could use all those lights then if will work but don't think your going to get hundreds of grams or anything. If your just doing this grow for info then go for it. You'll learn alot.

Well of course I'm also doing this to get as much yield as I can but also for the learning process. If I didn't have a budget then I'd go buck wild! Oh and also its for personal use not sale. Tell you what this site has been hands down the most informative website I've seen yet. Cool people too.

Well if this is your first grow then I would go off and buy all the good stuff. If I was you,(I'v been there before. Trust me) I would just go ahead and use the lights you have. Maybe good and buy some kind of nutes. Yeah your get some buds off of it but not alot. Depends on what you are growing. Good luck. Happy growing.

If you want to do it right then get a mh light for veg and a hps light for flowering. Thats how you get the big buds but thats alot of money for a first time grower. You will also have to buy fans because those lights put out a lot of heat.

I got a mh light a few days ago at lowes for about 25 bucks. Its one of those street lamps. The hps lights cost a little more.

How big is your growing area??

I just have regualr schwag, but good schwag. I have an all white storage cabinet that I picked up from target thats 14 3/4 deep, 56 1/4 tall, 27 5/8 length. Got a few fans already. Does HD have HPS and MH lighting. You think I can buy 4 bulbs (two mh, two hps), duel ballast so I can put two different bulbs together. One MH/HPS and one MH/HPS on each side. Do they sell all that stuff at HD?

Heh just be careful in a small space with heat. Id have to worry more I use foil right now im growing under a single 42w "150w" Compact Flourescent. I plan on grabbing one more of them and that will probably be all I need for good vegging. I imagine Id need 3 of them for flower or one good HPS
