Sunmaster sucks mate!
I see a lot of bulb manufacturers out there for halide and sodium and other bulbs, all with slightly different properties. Any favorites? Eye Hortilux, Philips, Osram, Sylvania, Lumenarc, Sunmaster... all claim to be the best!

Sunmaster sucks mate!
I use an argomax, I like it for a few reasons, 1st in a 400 watt system this bulb makes it a 430 watt, 2nd the bulb is enhanced meaning you can grow thru vegging and right into flowering with this bulb
yeah there a good company mate
my personal favorite Sylvania $35 and the hydro shop
SunMaster are probably the best - look at their website, all the information about their bulbs is there including spectrographs showing you exactly how much light they output is useable by the plants. The Sylvania Grolux is quite popular as it has enhanced blue spectrum output for a HPS bulb. Philips and Osram are quite similar, the Philips 430w Son Agro is like the Grolux bulb, enhanced blue output. Eye and Lumenarc I don't know much about.
SunmasterŽ Grow Lamps and Power Supplies, HPS and Metal Halide Agricultural Lamps and Ballasts
The 430 watt Son Argo is specifically to augment natural sunlight. The bulb produces a little more blue in the light spectrum. This helps most plants from becoming leggy.
love my philips
