u say use your hand to judge how far away you should put your plant well what if my room is around 60s and my 175w is cool from about 6inches away thats with a fan blowin in that direction. soo heres my ? is it ok to put the plant 6inches away or will it burn from overexposure.pretty yung plant bout 4 inches. thanks

One can have the light too close. Heat is not an issue at times its the intensity of the light. So you are thinking in the right direction. If that plant is getting plenty of light then you are fine.
