Lightbulb Clones leaves are turning yellow..
so yea, my clones leaves have almost all turned yellow, so does this mean it has now grown roots? and i should start watering the soil?

even if it hasent grown roots, should i water the soil, or just mist the leaves like 3 times a day.
help would be awsome

well i have had my 2 clones planted in 3 gallon buckets for about 10 days now and they have grown taller and more leaves but i have always been watering soil ever few days and misting every once in a while(stopped cuz i thought it drew to much light/heat to one area) How long have they been in soil for? And how tall did they start as. Check them out.

How do my plants look? **pics***

Clone leaves should not turn yellow. And when rooting in soil, the soil should stay warm and wet. Gently pull up on a stem and see if it comes out. It sounds like they haven't rooted.

mine turn yellow when they use their own energy to grow roots. maybe i should foilar feed? usually after the first 2 sets yellow roots appear. they don't all yellow though it varies per strain. that's just my experienced. i have rooted only 75 clones so i am a n00b on this.

Well, I spray my cuttings underside foliage daily with a dilute complete nute solution, containing mostly P and Superthrive. Leaves stay green and healthy, new growth is vigorous. People who buy my plants say they look the best of any on the market.

Default How do the comercial cloners do it??
I followed all instructions to a tee, I can only figure I have the lamp too close? I ran three samples of 50 each 1. grodan/rockwool cubes soaked in superthrive and olivias for 24 hours 2. peat pellets soaked in same solution for 24 hours 3. rapid rooter plugs soaked as well. I took all 150 cuts from the same grapefruit diesel at 6" with 2 leaf sets and I stripped the outer bark on the bottom 3/4 inch of stem then cut at 45 degrees and trimmed the lower tips from the leaf sets. I soaked all the cuts in 1" of 6.0ph water with superthrive and olivias for 24 hours. I then dipped the cuts into clonex gel and put into the medium and set to the side to get indirect light for 24 hours. They were doing great with a mist every 3 or 4 hours. I then moved them to the rack under a 2 bulb 40w flouresent 10" above the canopy and within 24 hours 25% of the cuttings are turning yellow and 5 wilted and died? the temp is at 78 consistant and humidity is at 50% all plants and other seedlings are thriving???? Am I just clonetarded?

The best investment I ever made for cloning was a $30.00 seedling heat mat. I have tried Jiffy Disks, rapid rooters and peat pots side by side. The peat pots are what worked best for me. I think the jiffy disks and rapid rooters are better suited for seed. I ran into the problem you are having when I changed to White Widow strain. Added the heat mat & added 1/2 strength nutrients at 1 week. It made all the difference in the world. You just have to find what works best for you in your envoirnment. I keep my clones under (4) 2' flouro tubes T-5s and keep them about 8" away from the top of the propogatot.

MD you dont mention anything about using a humidity dome. Your RH is 50% that is way too dry for the root-less plants to survive. Temp will do, but you need to create a rainforest for them so the leaves are constantly taking in moisture to survive. Put a humidity dome on and i think your problem will be solved. you want to have plenty of moisture in the dome until the clones root. it's only source of taking in food is through the leaves. I believe you want to have 85 - 99% RH. Hope this helps.

Yellowing leaves on clones indicates that they have rooted or have rooted enough, and are using the nitrogen saved in their leaves to grow and sustain themselves.

Try pulling one out of the tray BY THE SUBSTRATE NOT THE STEM, and if there's any roots poking out then there's your answer.
