Default Need some opinions on this proposed grow room
Looking for a little of insight on how to set this room up have`nt bought much yet but I do 1 Sun System 6 reflector with 1000 watt switchible ballast along with a 1000watt HPS and 1000watt MH. I have a hundred feet of mylar, also have an activated carbon filter along with 172cfi inline blower , Last of all I have a 3.5 light rail . There is actic space over the room I plan on running a duct line over for Heat and AC if needed along with a vent line to the roof.

So pretty much 8' by 7' with a little chunk out of it. Good size room. I assume you already know you will want to devote on a two to one basis. You may want to strt with the dimensions of a suitable sytem or two, or in you are not going to use aero or hydro you may want to start with the size of the pots you will finish in. Can you do the electric yourself? Remember every device you add will need to be plugged in somewhere so you will want a lot of receptacles or you will have a mess. And while planning remember you have to be able to tend your plants. you have to leave isle ways between tables and you will want some way of seperating 12/12 light cycle from 18/6.
We may be able to help you more if we know what kind of system you are considering.

I was actually planning on an aeroponic system, custom built. I have made the arrangements for to quad receptacles at both ends of the room along with a regular receptacle in the cieling

I can tell you that you are gonna need a much bigger fan(s) than a 172cfm fan. And you should look into buying a digital ballast. Much better than magnetic core and put of way more lumens. Some digital 600w can put out 5% less usable light than a 1000w magnetic core ballast. Good luck

I agree with seedlessone, that fan isn't going to be even nearly powerful enough to deal with the heat and humidity in that growspace, particularly with a 1000w system. What is it with you people and your damned 1000w systems? 1000w HID = most inefficient of all HID systems, chucks out the most heat and needs to be placed the furthest away from the plants = not a very smart choice.

I have a space of 0.60 m3 space and my 175m3 per hour fan at 3/4 speed just about manages to control the temperatures and humidity.

You need to rethink your ventilation requirements for that space.

look on line for some bigger cfm fans. i'm using 900 cfm fans intake and exhaust. they are 8" fans. the 172 you talked about is not going to be close enough. my room is not as big as yours and i'm tight on all levels

Heat is not an issue there will be ac pumped to the room, the only reason I have the fan is to vent enough for airflow and to suck some heat away from the lamp, not to mention I havent even decided the amount of plants , or the system which are my more serious concerns at the moment. but since everyone is really concerned about ventilation. How much should i have and and since I live in a (Duplex) and my nieghbor lives beside me lets also consider noise and the cost of a larger fan . Does anyone have any good links to some places for a larger fan at a decent price. I also went out and bought 2 24 inch osilating fans today along with 100 feet of mylar. Thanks everyone on the positive input , the more advice the better.
