Does anyone know anything about Electrical Consumption in Canada? Im looking for more info than what I already know, but it will be a little difficult for anyone to really help...
I know in some books, a house with 3-4bedrooms could run 3-4 1000watt lights. I also know thats not entrierly true lol. Could run yes obviously, but most familys dont run that, they tend to keep there electrical bill under $150. On the otherhand, if you wired up another 240V and running 4 1000watts does not seem like such a bad idea, nor to dangerious, but it could be!! Any info or ideas were the safe zone roughly is???? For Condo/town house.. 2-3bedroom house and for an apartment? Safezone meaning Electricity used and roughly the number of watts!! Thanks for your time and info!!!! If you post please post the province you live in no other info please.. I just want to know if it applies to me or not!. Thanks.

If you live in ontario your not likely to be caught by your power consumption. Power companies here love to sell off their juice.
I easily consume double that of what my neighbour average is and have for a long time, I just pay the bills and no one gives a damn.

You have a much higher chance of getting caught by a nosey neighbour or some smells getting out from the grow room, then your power use.

it shouldent matter really, unless you plan on growing with 8000W

an 1000W grow even a 2000W grow wont get noticed, some people use more than others

I'm paying $250 a month for hydro, and don't even worry about it. I just pay the bill when it comes and they don't bother me.I never see them either ,I pay by direct deposit over the phone. I have never heard of anybody getting busted in Ontario because of high electrical usage either. I'm using 1 400 watt MH for veg and 2 1000 watt HPS for flowering + fans+ dehumidifier+ AC/ air exchange so that gives you an idea of usage, of course we live in the house too so the bill includes all domestic use as well .

What,Me Worry??

I flower with 2600watts 1000(left)600(middle)1000(right)=>thats how I place lighting in flower room
For veg, I place 1 400MH and I use several 32Watt Cool white for my outdoor seedlings, as well as 2X 200Watt Compac's veging my next crop.. So im about 3500 Watts not to mention I have fans, hydroponic set up under 400MH, I live in that facilitiy aswell, and the facility is a Townhouse/condo thats 3Bedrooms 1 and 1/2 baths 1800squarefeet total floor living compacity.. Tthink I can add 4 more 600HPS??

I wouldn't go over 6000 watts in that place. Just beware of the noise your making at night if you have neighbours right next door. Adding more lights will require more cooling, making more noise.

Yeah I am in a detached house in the suburbs so I only have to worry about people coming into the house hearing the fans.I have my air exchanger beside the outlet side of the air supplyof our high efficiancy furnace so the warm air escapeing just blends in with the exhaust of the furnace. On a cold day the warm air fogs up a bit but so does the furnace air so it's not noticable.Of course in the warm weather it's not a problem.
