I would at least wait until you have a root or two coming out that is at least an inch long before you put it into soil. IMO you should protect the roots from light.

The flowering clones will reveg after about 3 weeks and will look pretty wierd. I would let it grow a decent set of roots before you flower them.

Yeah...those fan leaves aren't going to do anything. You want to cut a stem off with 3 or 4 nodes on it, preferably on the lower part of the plant. Trim the lower end of the clone so that an inch or so (and a node) can sit under water. You can use the same method as your picture, but try a colored cup and cover the top with something like tin foil with holes poked in it for the stems to fit in.

I would recommend not doing on a flowering plant unless you are trying to save some genetics. Its almost more work and time than its worth. And yes, you will have to cut a branch off where it meets the main stalk. One that has at least 3 nodes on it and is at least 4 inches long total. Then cut off the growth on the lowest node or two on that clone, leaving just the top two nodes with their leaves still attached. You can scrape the lower inch of the clone, but don't scrape the lowest node completely off. When you put it into the cup, make sure that node is submerged along with about an inch or more of the stem. In about 5-7 days you should be good. Takes longer with a flowering clone.

You guys saying he will get roots off clone just sitting in cup of water in the picture?

I wanna see pics of the stem with tiny roots after one day in rain water... i have been trying to clone for few weeks now trying afew different setups.. fastest i got was 7-8 days since the cut. Next one was frigen 13days, this newest i bought off someone else and leaves never drooped or anything so looking good. But thats just to see roots then another few days till plant worthy.

Nah, I don't think what he was seeing was roots. Probably fuzz where he was shaving them.
But yes, you can just sit it in a cup of water and you will get roots in 7+/- days. 4 days being the earliest i've had. Just a red solo cup, covered with tin foil, and a hole poked to stick the stem through. Once it shows roots, just use a pen/pencil to poke a hole in your soil as deep as a 1/2" below the first set of leaves. Plop it in, firm up the soil a little, and you're good to go.
