150w HPS light

Hey guys . I just got a hold of a 150w hps light and was wondering if this light would be enough for 1 plant in a closet surrounded by Mylar? Should I add a couple cfl's to supplement more light? Let me know , I'll keep you guys posted with pictures. Happy Farming!

The HPS will be fine. Do you have the ballast/hood as well? If so, not being nosey, but how much did you pay? You could put 2 plants in there depending on the dimeonsions of the area. Don't forget about fans either.. what type of soil do you plan on using?

Well this is my first grow and very excited about it. Im using Fox Farm Soil and General Hydroponics nutrients. I have 2 fans in the closet. I thought about going with a bucketeer type system in my next grow but i wanted to be successful with soil before I went hydro.

my father inlaw had the light in his garage and gave it to me, I just need a good HPS bulb for it.

are you just going for a 1 plant at a time system? is this hps light for your flowering room? what are the dimensions of the room? mylar is generally considered a really good lining (you wont run into any of those burn problems you get with foil etc...) and your choice of soil/nutes sounds good. right now i have two, 150 watt hps lights and about 50 extra watts of cfls for my 4x4x6 flowering room and that seems to produce really nice buds. some pics would help us help you

Were talking a growing space the size of a standard standup shower 30" x 36" and up to the ceiling. I already hung up chains to bring the light up and down. I lined the shower stall walls with emergency blankets that are 100% mylar. The hood was almost yellow so i repainted it again with flat white rustoleum spray paint.

Dude you'll be fine. Your lumes foot print will be around 1.5x1.5 to 2x2 foot max. So with saying that, you got about a max of 4 square feet of grow room until you start to loose lumes. Depending on the strain of the plant and if there auto's or not you can grow 2 nice photo period plants or 3 to 4 autos if you go with the short to medium kind in height in 1 gallon pots. Adding supplemental lighting on the sides is always a plus and will not hurt ya. It will also help with the bud growth on the bottom of the plants. Help fatten up those popcorn buds a bit.

I'm rocking 150w sun system and so far iv only grown one plant yeilding 226g and I cut early...I love it for my small 2x2 cab and could easily do 2 or 3 at a time with it

Just picked up a 150 watter from sun systems! Nice grow, you made me happy seeing what it can do! You can run MH in that also, but you'll have to buy a 150 watt m.h online. I couldnt find any stores that carried it and found only one company that does with a Mogul base. Was like $30 in all with shipping.
