I like the 1000w, but I do run 1600w setup.I move small clones in, 600w, and move the bigger ones to the 1000w light. If I can, if not then flower all under my 1600w flower room.
Going to run my other 1000w latter this year too.
I have a 12x12 (+/-) square foot area. I am going to either have 3 600s or 2 1,000s on 6 foot light rails. Iam going to try a sea of green grow. This will be my first try growing like this.... I am leaning towards the 2 1,000s on rails.......?

what kind of vertical space do ya have?if ya got tall ceilings like 7-8 foot you'll be good with the big bulbs,if ya got a short room like 6 foot or less go with the 600 imo but the mover helps with alot of shit.gl

A 12' x 12' space is 144 sq feet. A general rule of thumb is 50 watts of HID lighting for every square foot.
144 sq feet x 50 watts HID = 7200 watts
So, it looks like you really only have enough light to grow in about 1/3 of the space, or a 4' x 12' space. Personally I would go 3 x 600 watts over 2 x 1000.
To light the whole room, you need several more lights.
I have a note from my Doctor
Thanks for the all the input everyone!!! Here is a little more info... I plan to have 6 4x4 tables (I will be growing in 1 gallon pots apx 36-42 pots per table) and do a perpetual grow. Each table will be 1 week ahead of the next in flowering stage so that I can harvest a table a week. I will have room in the clone room to move clones to pots and give them a week or so in the pot vegging before they go to the flowering room.
Sixstring, I have about 6 feet of vertical space.
PJ, thanks for that info, I did not know that!!! To clear up my original post a little... I plan to have either a total of 6 600s ( three on each side of the room) or 4 1000s (2 on each side of the room on rails) in the room. If I use the trays like mentioned above (4ft x 12ft x 2rows =96 sqft growing area) I would need apx 4800 watts of light. Is my thinking on that correct? If so, that would mean I could go with 4 600s on each side of the room. I think that 600s would be best since I only have a 6 foot ceiling.
Here are some pictures of the work I did over the weekend

3 600 watts will put out way more lumens than 1 1000 watt. go with that
