My plants are "vegging now" I Use a MH 400w.I also use 5 T-5s.My area is 3x3=9x3000 = 27 lumens per sq ft.Total lumens w/ both on are @ 51,000 lumens.My lights are on for 18/6.If i turn my MH on for only 10 -12 hours per day and keep t-5s goin for 18,will the lack of lumens harm my plants for the few hours w/o MH?????????

The T5s alone would be fine if they are the 4 footers and in the blue spectrum bulbs.The 400 watt light isnt really needed until flower but then you want hps red light for that stage. I use simple 4 foot T8 fixtures with 4 bulbs in them

Whats up Fletch! The bulb i use is an agro sun "gold series" in my MH.My t-5s are two footers.

I am in no way being an ass, but with a 3X3 area, 9sqft=27000 Lumens total, not per square foot. So with both lights you are averaging over 5500 lumens per sqft which is excellent. How many lumens do the T5's put out alone?

that seems to be my problem.My T-5s are 2 foot@12000 lumens.W/MH=40000= @ 52000 lumen w/both are on ,but when my MH goes off my room consist of @ 12000 lumens.Now take it my MH is on for 10 hrs a day,while are on for 18 hrs.For those 8 hours,will lack of lumens hurt my plants????

My light cylcle is as follows.......Both MH & T-5s come on at 5am,MH goes off at 10am.T-5s are stil on.MH comes back on at 3pm and off again at 8pm.T-5s are shut off at 11pm.For those few hours w/o MH,will the lack of lumens hurt.The temp is around 77 degrees,while MH is off.Thanx for all who writes back.
