if you notice the plants are really droopy a lot and the leafs are kinda waxy looking it's time to back off how often you are watering. you'll be surprised how long they go with out water depending on your set up

I use LED and CMH lighting for flower, PLLs (fluorescent) for veg. and have fans constantly blowing on my plants. My grows reach about 80-84 F and 40-50% humidity, and I find that I only have to water every 4-5 days for mature plants (well over 30 days). My mature plants are all around 2-2.5'.

I started by using the finger method, then moved on to the weigh method. It has worked out well.

As to weighing them on scales, sure, you could try that, but it will get tedious. Just heft them, you will soon learn the difference between a pot that needs water and one that does not.

As to spraying, it is typically not necessary unless you are trying to foliar feed some nutrient in between waterings. Spraying them often can lead to several issues, mold being one if the growth is dense enough.
Hey guys, all the equipment arrived yesterday and after 12 straight hours of tedious work using only a hand saw and a hammer, the room is finished. It is looking amazing and the plants are responding well to the new lights, I switched from an 80W floro to a 600W hps. The grow box is 4x4x6 and has a fan suspended next to the light directly above the plants, it is pretty powerful and is ment to be a stand up oscilating fan with 3 speeds, I broke off the bottom attached some screws to the bottom and top of it, put it sideways and hung it up with some rope. I also have an oscilating small white desk fan that cools the light down significantly and keeps the plants blowing as if in the wind

Got the whole thing built with some wood that I forgot what it is called sorry really high, its stronger than plywood, we used that for the floor and some plywood for the ceiling and walls, as for the support we have 4 thick wooden support beams that came off of an old house(these things were hard as hell to cut to size with a hand saw!) Conveniently the house neighboring mine is in the process of being built, so I "borrowed" some 2x4's and some huge nails(needed ones big enough to go through the support beams into the plywood. Also please take into consideration this build was very hard, we had to build it while inside the grow room, and the door is about 4 feet tall and maybe 3 feet wide, so we had to drag all the materials inside and construct it in there, the grow room is probably about 8 feet in height and 4 feet in width as well as 8 feet in length. So it was very cramped and we had to nail the support beams to the plywood instead of the plywood to the support beams. The whole thing is lined and sealed with 1 mil thick reflective mylar. I've also cloned the bubba breath, purple thai, and trainwreck and have them all going in a dwc hydroponics setup under an 80W floro for now and when they get big enough I will move to a 400W MH. I finally gave the plants some nutrients after them being w/o for a week or two. We are heavy feeding the flowering nutrients for a week or two then lowering it to the regular feeding and doing it every other watering.

your friend is wrong. there is no answer to "how often." they are plants, and sometimes they drink more, sometimes less. water by weight of pot. that is the best way, imo. when pot feels light.......water.
