I am about to do a micro grow, and am in the process getting set up. I want to keep it small. Not quite PC case, but along the lines of a rubbermaid container. How small is too small for a 400w hps? Whats the min. size I could get away with assuming I kept the heat down?

400 watts are pretty cool running. What size area were you thinking about using? 400 watts can light like a 3x3 area really well. 4x4 if you push it. It can do less than that if you keep temps down..

yeah 3x3 or 4x4 is recommended for a 400w. if you did it in a rubbermaid container I would imagine it would be hard to fit the bulb and hood and all that in it. There not that big, but bigger than a rubbermaid container would fit. Unless of course your getting a gigantic container or something. I'm sure they probably make one.
