    Question CFL or sunlight?

this thought just came across my mind, i have an estimated 115w of florescent light in my grow cab for my seedlings. There is about 7 seedlings in there and they are getting light 18 hours a day. My question to you people is would they grow faster under the florescent or outside in the sun? around my area we are only getting about 14-15 hours of sunlight. I ask this because i know the sun gives off alot of lumens but its also only out for 14 hours, where as my cfls can stay on 18 hours a day. Should i let the seedlings grow a lil more inside before i put them outside.

Sunlight is the best, no doubt about it. If you want, put them out during the day, then back under the flouros for the evening.

There is no artificial lighting in existence(sorry plasma growers), than can compare to the UV and UVB the sun puts out this time of year let alone Fall. I have almost 400 actual watts of CFL's that did wonders during winter months, but flowering plants still were supplemented with sunlight in February indoors with non-UV block glass. Proper terpine/resin production is directly related to UV spectrums as well as red to blue visible light. CFL's are great for vegging, not so good for flowers.

Edit: For those wondering what non-UV block glass is, my home was built in 1906...20 years before sunglasses were even invented.

    I gave up growing indoors.
Only thing I do is get them started indoors so they can be well established outside without much attention.

    My view,
Indoors is a pain in the ass.. Why pay for something when you get it for free right outside the walls of your home.
Its insane.. Still dont know why their are more indoor growers then outdoor..

Guess stealth & location has major factors.
You wouldn't get indoor plants the size of these babys in my Avatar.

There are too many worthless 2-legged creatures out and about in my area for guerrilla grows, wish I could legally hunt rippers. Plus it hasn't rained for over a month, and fuck hauling water every other day which has to be done until transplants establish. Droughts in July can be easily handled, ones in May are not. I would have to drive a good 100 miles round-trip before I even start hiking for suitable locations, so there are many reasons that force folks to go indoors. I happen to have the benefits of climate control plus outdoor sun year-round, like having a greenhouse. And I could easily grow plants that large indoors during Fall when I don't even need a flowering room.

Nice grow BTW!, I gotta give you props man...I did it for almost a decade and finally stopped this year b/c 50% of my crops were getting stolen etc.

theres alot of reason to do indoor, i had 11 plants that were indoor and were vegging for 2 months and i had to move them outside the first of may, they are now all five feet tall and its not even the end of may!
