The real reason why you dont trim ur fan leafs

...its simple....once you cut off your fan leafs ...the leafs that are growing in the buds will begin to grow bigger due to the fact that all your fan leafs are now chopped off.

ill make even more simple...

...leaf growth does not stop because you cut off the big leafs...all it does it make all the small leafs start growing bigger.

so why is all this ^^^^^^^^^ a problem??...well thats easy to:

the bigger the leafs in ur buds are the more leafy the bud will taste...THO it might im prove keif production (thats another lesson lol)...if you want good tasting buds this is a problem.

...this is why i don't cut off (all my fan leafs)...i do trim some here and there if they are getting the way...but i never cut off all of them....not all at once...not over time...there is a reason why they are there.

that is true man..this is my first grow and i read everywhere to cut off my fan leafs now that i did i have lots more leafs then bud.. now they are all covering my budz and my budz arent getting any light..any suggestions?

ya i dont see why u wud cut all of them..i am a victim of trimming and getting more bigger fan leaves later on in my current grow

The fan leaves on the plants are the solar panels of your plants energy, air and food systems. it has pores in its leaves that it resporates*/breathes with and absorbs its light energy with. i aboslutely always lollipop my plants and trim yellowing or browning fan leaves, but never pull good green leaves off of a live plant until the CHOP. haha that jus my opinion tho

I heard to cut them for the last 2 weeks (or when you're flushing) as you're going to cut the leaves soon anyways, and it takes longer to flush? Not sure. Comments?

Edit: Maybe nutes come out of the leaf via the stem and back into the rest of the plant too?

i heard that if u leave the sugar leaves on until right before u jar it it will slightly increase ur potentcy..soo pretty much dont trim until dry. i heard it harder to do tho..but ya know ppl "hear" alotta things lol

lol... I could seem them being more potent (higher THC percentage) but I don't see the yield being any greater. I'm wondering if the extra light for the lower half of the plant would produce more bud (even if a little lower in potency) ie. More bud less potency tradeoff

pruning works better for me.. im not saying go ape shit, but some strains, if you dont prune, your gona get half larf

it doesn't matter if the buds are getting direct light as the leafs are what makes the buds bigger, not the buds getting more or less light as the leaves are what feeds the plant and makes the plants grow, including the buds, not the other way around..
so don't worry about buds being covered by leaves as the leaves are what makes big buds..
