Default Vent Help
I just built a new grow box this week. I'm running strictly CFL's (6x 26W daylight, 2x 26w warm white). The box is approx 3'x2'x4'. I plan to get about 2 good plants by the end of this grow. I will have pictures up in the next few days however as of right now I'm battling the heat. With the door closed it gets up to around 85 (scary to me) and with it open its stopping on around 80. I currently have two 93MM PC fans mounted on each side, one blowing in and one blowing out. I have two more on the way which I plan to mount side by side with the existing two for a greater effect. I'm trying to keep this low budget... Any ideas for a quick fix? I'm open to all suggestions, kinda desperate gonna see sprouts soon I hope to not have a heat issue at that point. Possibly a few more small fans and port holes at the top? Would this work? Would the amount of light escaping from such port holes be an issue?

What sort of fan would you suggest? Are you just refering to like a little clip on desk fan almost? Or like a bathroom exaust fan? Cause I really dont have the means to rig up an entire exaust fan and duct work... at least at this point, maybe in the future

ventilation is most important for providing a steady supply of fresh air (CO2). Cooling and stem strengthening is a secondary, but awesome bonus.

Ideally you want to ventilate your grow area 3 times a minute though once is adequate. So the fan you use to exhaust should be 3 times the cubic feet. In your case a fan with a CFM rating of 72 or more would be more than adequate.

You want your exhaust near the top (hot air rises) and remember to put some passive intake holes towards the bottom to avoid creating a vacuum.

And you'll still want an oscillating fan or two inside your grow area to make sure all the air keeps moving around constantly.

as for types of fans, i prefer the vortex-style - but that is just my preference.
