ive seen it done where a guy planted early in april outdoors in a greenhouse, then b/c the days are too short in april (norcal), they will begin to early flower, so he just threw in some cfl's, not a whole lot either, just enogh to light the place up for the plants and the plants got enough light to stay in flower

that a cool idea but the guy was a pro and said he'd been doin it for years, if you want big plants though id veg indoor til about mid june then transplant in double or even triple the size of the og container it was in and from june-july the plant will double or triple in size, this is all norcal weather of course

    Thanks for the response.

I have been putting my plant outdoors during the day and then once the sun starts to go down I bring it back inside under cfls. I haven't had any problems yet and the only reason I do it is because I thought it would benefit the plant to get some genuine sun light for half the day or so, but I question if the plant gets confused with all of the light and temp. change. And I have only tried it for a couple days.

    Watch out for Bugs

Taking a plant out doors will enable critters to access the plant and then come in on it to your indoor grow!

the simple answer is yes you can alternate, actually if you plan on putting the plant outside it is a good idea to introduce it to as much outside weather (little at a time and progressivly let it stay out longer) this is a method called hardening off, it is required for a transition from indoor to outdoor.
