Once my buddy transfers his root riot cups into cups before he puts them outside, should be put any holes in the cups, or should anything be done to the cups?

One would think that you would make modify the cup so that it resembles a flowerpot, being that that is what the cup is being used in palce of, and most flower pots have holes in the bottom for a reason.

i use beer cups and gotta have some drianage. even holes just on the bottom arnt good enough, so i come up the side an 1/8" or so and make a few holes on the side too. no drainage = no growth because roots will drown.
