Default Vent intake into roof space

Hi the roof above my grow room is ventilated as per building codes to ensure circulation of air.

Does anybody think this would be a bad place for me to suck air from for my air intake?, there is continuous ventilation along both sides of the roof so there should be ample intake I think.

Any thoughts?

Thanks for looking

be sure to use a filter when sucking air from a questionable source to avoid sucking in mites and bugs and all around filth. now im assumnig this isnt air that other people rely on right? dont put a vacuum pump up to a building shared air conditioning system =) people will complain -- lol and with a heat gun you would be the only room NOT hot.

it'll be hot air up there in summer. why not vent the other way, from grow room to attic? keep a steady flow of conditioned air.

might want to pass the exhaust through some carbon if you've got a bunch growing.

Thanks

No it's all my attic.

I have a timber frame building and didn't fancy making a hole through and chancing letting any moisture into the fabric of the building. The trouble with venting into the attic is fistly I was a little concerned about the roof getting warm and showing up on thermal imaging and also as the air will be humid I would be introducing moist air into my wooden roofspace which is not a good idea.

Thanks for the help though, maybe mI'll stick with making a hole in the wall for intake and for my exhast vent down a drain.

I wouldn't worry about the thermal imaging but the humid air in the attic could be an issue. Plus you'd have to filter it.

This question depends a fair amount on your climate. If the environment is kind enough you could draw from the roof instead of the outside of the house.

Hi

Thanks for this, well my climate is kind enough at the moment but I suppose not so come the summer.

Why wouldn't you worry about the thermal imaging? is this not much of a problem unless you have a huge amount of heat, am I giving it too much weighting, if there wasn't much chance of thermal imaging picking up the heat then I would vent straight outta the roof instead of using the drain as it would be much simpler.

I have same worries. Attic grow, dont know where to exhaust hot air, concerned about thermal imaging. Sewer vent pipe runs right through it, could run a tee of it and exhaust filtered air through it but concerned about heat, dont know what to do.
