I have a 5 1/2 wk old plant, 6" high. Short but a lot of leaves. I am on 18/6. I noticed several spiney looking things growing up the center, They don't look like new leaves. Would a plant start flowering at 5 1/2 wks old and only 6" high. Or could these spiney things or spikes be something else ? The plant looks healthy. Just short. I heard it will grow faster at 12/12. But is it ready for that yet ?

I do not know what those are called but I think every plant has those, or at lest every plant i've seen has had em. I believe they do not have anything to do with sex.
