Hey guys,
Today my MH- Set arrived. This night i fired up my Set. But my MH doesnt have blueish Tint.
Its more a warm white. The Bulb name is Philips Masters CityWhite CDO-TT. In the descripition on the package it also says Warm white light. Do you guys think it has still the right spectrum for vegging? Or should i send it back?

Please Help:leaf:

Greets Mika

I would defiantly keep it.
CMH are the closest you can get to actual sunlight indoors for the money.
They run cooler Than HPS an more efficiently = more lumen Per watt
They last much longer. An don't loose lumens with age as bad as the rest.
Are safer fire wise then HPS or MH .
And emit a much fuller spectrum of light =more Photoreactive radiation.
Have tighter node spicing than HPS plants.
They emit UVB witch can hurt your eyes, but promotes tric production in cannabis.

I wanted to use it for veging and use a HPS for Flowering? What do you think?

They veg way better than a standard MH, an flower as good as a HPS.
I'm going to ditch my Hortilux blue HPS an an use CMH when it gets good an used.

The only way I see a HPS as better is they make 1000 watt bulbs, CMH only get up to 400watts.
But im a small cab grower an don't use big bulbs.

According to this site, it's definitely a CMH: http://www.philips.co.uk/l/lamps/high-intensity-discharge-lamps/outdoor-ceramic-white-light/master-citywhite-cdo-tt/23335/cat/
I have a Hortilux 400w HPS and a Phillips 400w CMH bulb in a tent. My light meter indicates that the CMH throws its lumens farther than the HPS...keep in mind that my light meter is one of those shitty water/pH/light meters you can get at any garden center, so take it for what it's worth. I've only had the CMH for a week, but I'm pleased with the performance so far. I think you're going to like that lamp.

So could i even use this bulb for vegging and flowering? or what do you mean?

CMH are one of the best lights you can get. Just flip the timer and youre set.
Some people are stuck on "you NEED this or that spec and nothing else" bullshit without even realizing what they are saying while vegging under HPS (which is an utter waste of time and money)
I used a light just like that and it was awesome. It will veg superbly under it (better than CFL of the "you need this spectrum or its the end of Earth" type and identical wattage and is worlds beyond a HPS).
Flower just like under HPS, or even better as some might argue. It has a more natural light spectrum, hurts your eyes though cause of UVB. UVB promotes THC production, something a HPS lacks. So in theory the dope should be better quality-wise.
At some point imma do a direct comparison between a CHM and HPS once i get the opportunity to build 2 perfectly identical set-ups with the only difference being the light.
Good luck.
