Welcome. Last round was a bit of a bust for me with some temperature issues so I'm back at it again. This time I'm also armed with 2 scrog screens and temperature monitoring in (1)flower space (2)canopy temp probe (3)root zone and (4)rez. Hopefully keeping a watchful eye on all those parameters can help me avoid the same set backs I experienced last round. This will be my 11th round of flowering, so looking forward to applying more knowledge learned. I was also able to purchase a 4x4 table to use for veg and that has helped the quality/lushness of my veggies immensely. Hand watering hydro is very difficult because you need to excessively water to keep the root zone EC from spiking in the pots. And just measuring runoff is a bit of a guessing game... Anyhow here's the setup rundown & pics. Hope you enjoy the show!

lol thanks my friend. You have all the knowledge you need, just need some space to bring those ideas to fruit. Your last screen was really good lookin, I'll be watchin this next screen play of yours lol
Hell yess! This should be a sick thread, awesome show here.
Thanks for droppin in buddy, how long u plannin to veg your girls? I see you aren't using the trays anymore to collect runoff, what are u using? I would love a basement floor with a drain lol someday
looks good someguy15..are you useing the one gal jugs to rise water level?
Exactly. Displacing water from the trays so the rez's can go longer before they run dry. Also decreases flooding time as the pumps only go so fast on 1/2 hose. If you don't have time to collect jugs, Ziplock brand galon size freezer bags work pretty well too. Fill them with plain water incase a seal goes...then it's just a little top off lol

I'm currently on vacation so I expect I'll have some training due with the screens when I return tomorrow. Might try to take pics twice a week, but I'll be doing minimum of once a week to track the progress for myself. Stay tuned guys and I'll be checking out your threads too of course.

A floor drain would be heaven indeed. I'm actually trying to minimize runoff as much as possible.

It takes a lot more precision in regards to EC and pH but it saves a decent amount of time and money.
I get a little bit here and there just running on to the poly floor I have down which is no big deal, just clean
it up after. Enjoy the vacation.

Thanks Shrubs, just returned home. All the water was still in the rezs and the plants are still alive! lol always worried when I leave them completely unattended... my ph did swing from 5.8 to 6.5 in those 3 days tho. Damn stretch always has my ph going wack, they stabilize like a rock by the second or third week tho. Gonna need a IP cam just to put myself at ease while I'm away lol

Some notes about the progress...I'll post a few pics tonight probably...they are filling in nicely.

Just been training the SK1 which is a stretchy bitch, but amazing sativa high. Only downsides she doesn't smell nearly as good as SK2 or yield as much. But for now I'm keeping both cuts around as I enjoy both in their own way. The NLxS are just now reaching the screen and the PE's aren't far behind, maybe 1" below or less on average. PPP's are the shortest about 2.5 inches below the screen but this is good as I know she likes to stretch every bit of 3 weeks. No deficiencies or bleaching noted anywhere. Lights currently 24" from screens.

Root zone temps have ranged from 65 (night) - 74 (day) which is acceptable I believe. I read a great soybean study about root zone temps and yield here if anyone is interested. The basic conclusion was 77 was optimal, 86 at max and 68 at min. The study held the root zone at a constant temp tho, which isn't 100% accurate naturally as it will fluctuate. If anyone has any experience with root zone temps and cannibus I would appreciate a bit of guidance here. Never a parameter I had to worry about in closets but my environment has changed a lot now.

Canopy temps were 70 (night) to 83 (day) which I'm happy with for now. Probably bump that up a touch when the CO2 starts crankin in week 2.

Crazy growth over the last few days. Everything is touching the screen...should work out perfect on the timing. Adding in CO2 at about half strength starting now.

Vortex 6" about 450 cfm. Also got a 6x24 phresh filter for scrubbing and a 6" duct silencer on the output of the fan. Helps quiet the noise down. Works great for cooling 2k, scrubbing and drawing air into the space/dehumidifying, what more could you ask for haha

Nice! Hows the smell with the phresh filter? I might have to pick up a silencer too, I'm guessing your pulling through the filter and pushing out the muffler?

Filters have served me well for a couple years now. I love em, lightest on the market too I think. And yes your guessing correctly. Filter -> 1kw -> 1kw -> vortex -> silencer->out

Looks great man I have a similar set up Titan Regulator and Controller also using flood and drain and some air pots but I converted to ttop drip and using coco chips as the medium. Nicely done dude, looks great.

Hell yea, every grower should. Unless you can do SOG but plant counts are against many of us...
Nice read man.. thanks.
yw, a lot of it was over my head for sure, but I atleast tried to walk away with the general idea lol

Thanks. Top drip coco would be cool but I was always concerned with clog emitters and bs like that. Are you running d2w or a recirculating setup? Always liked coco for the fact that it supports bio's better than most every other hydro medium.
