Has anybody used the water they take out of their fish tanks when they do water changes to water their plants? I change about 100 gallons a week so I thought it might be a good idea. The pH of the water always hovers right around 7 and usually contains a decent amount of nitrates and nitrites.

Cool. I'll give it a try. I guess not using it for every watering would be kind of like cutting nutrients. I have several babies growing now and assuming I end up with a few females maybe I'll do a side by side and doe some with the fish tank water and some with tap water.

If your water has too much ammonia in it then your fish would be dead...aren't the nitrites and nitrates there because of the ammonia breaking down or something like that? If your water is cloudy or something then don't do it...but I am thinking about using it on one just for a test...

doing a fish water grow on a diff website so i wont provide a link
but its a hydro grow using nothing but the recycled water adjusting the ph to about 6.2
it grew fine but i think needs alittle bit of complete fert like at least 10%
i plan on harvesting it in 2 weeks so u can check it out later

I use the fish tank water on my house plants (for the past 4 years).. if I were to use it on GANJA plants I would make sure to set the correct pH

You are correct. When I said a "fair amount of ammonia" it's wasn't really all that accurate. I have a 55 and 40 gallon tank that I do 50% water changes on weekly so the ammonia stays low enough to never be a problem to the fish (I keep clown loaches in one tank and they are extremely sensitive to water conditions). I was just curious if any ammonia in the water would hurt the plants.

What's the ideal pH for the ganja? I have well water with an inline softener so my water is always floating right around 7.

BTW: I don't know if it makes a difference or not, but I'm growing in soil.
