Cool CFL MG Soil Grow 1st Grow Simple Setup

    Hello RIU Community

I decided to go ahead & take the leap started my first grow. I opted to use CFL's & Miracle Grow even though almost everyone objects. I have read/viewed countless threads & videos of successful grows with favorable yields plus this is only for 1 plant.

The Plant is 17 Days old and is potted in a 10" pot. Below is my soil mix.

    Seed - Bag seed

    Soil
Miracle Grow Organic Potting Mix - 50%
Miracle Grow Organic Bone Meal - 25% 6-9-0
    Miracle Grow Vermiculite - 25%
The plant was transferred on day 15 to 10" pot and re-watered. Today I noticed some yellowing on fan leaves only. No yellow or brownish tips at all.

Water is tap room at room temp.

    (3) 27w 2700k, 1,750 Lumens - Flower
Light Hood - Made from the top of a shoe box lined with Permaflex. 12in x 5in

I was thinking of vegging 2 more weeks than sexing, Any advice?

Any advice will be greatly appreciated, +rep.

@ Skinitti666 - Nice simple setup bro. I have to order a 45w 6500 CFL online because Home Depot doesn't carry that particular bulb, they do however carry the 45w 2700k bulb. How have you vegged your plants?

@XMika123 - TY for your reply. I am keeping a close on the baby as I want this be a success.

Should I be concerned with the yellowing spots on the fan leaves? I am not watering often as I don't want to cause any Nute Burn.

Day 18 - I noticed severe browning of the fan leaves after last nights watering. I suspect my PH level is not right as I haven't measured it since starting the grow.

I am picking up a PH tester tomorrow. Any thoughts/advice please as I do not want to Nute Burn the plant & I also want to maintain the right PH levels.

I am watering every 4 days.

Day 19 - I picked a Ph tester solution just for now.The ph was a tad high. I a few drops of vinegar to my water and all is well. I also adjusted the PH of my misting solution as well. Also added were (1) 32w 6500 & (2) 27w 6500 CFL's as well.

I trimmed the leaves where the brown spots were really heavy.

    Thanks..
