Blue Dream & Church Valley Kush With EBB & Grow Along with Lucas Formula

Ok so I have 5 Church Valley Kush which I've been growing for about 2 yearsjust kept the strain alive (I think this will be my last run with it though, Ijust don’t like the product and the weight it produces). Then I also have 4Blue Dream clones which I traded some church valley clones for. Right away Ialready know that they both finish in 10 weeks otherwise I wouldn't have put 2different types together.

Also I'm growing with the EBB andGrow system, pretty basic set up in my opinion. The reason why I went with thisis because over all the EBB and Flow(my previous setup) used more water for theamount of plants being put in each table which I didn't agree with. So I didsome research and found this method which I'm able to mix up 20 gallons ofnutes and feed up to 13-14 plants and still recycle it for about a week to aweek and a half before I change out the resi and add fresh nutes. I’ve alwaysdone a recycle type of system over a drain to waste just because it saves mesome money overall and my plants don’t seem to mind one bit either.

I keep my room temp right about 78-80 never hits 81 or drops under 77 whichkeeps them pretty happy and my room humidity is about 35% on average. I run 1-1000H.P.S. during veg then I will add another tomorrow so they will be floweredunder 2-1000’s. My room is also is a 12l x 6w x 8h so right now I’m just usingthe back portion of the room until I get more equipment to fill up the room.

So right now I keep my resi at about 5.8-5.9 and haven’t had a problem. AlsoI hear a lot of people mentioning they have slime build up in their tubing andbuckets from this system. So right away I just add 1 tablespoon of H202 35% inthe resi once per day and I’ve never seen a problem, not only that but theplants respond better to the nutes and accept them quicker it looks like. When Iveg I start them at 300, and work their way up about 50 ppm to 75 ppm per dayuntil I keep it at a stable 650-700 for about a week an half. Then I pump themto 900 ppm for a week and get them ready to be introduced into flowering.

Right now they are between 16-19 inches so it’s a pretty even canopy. The reasonwhy I will not wait until they are a little taller before I flower them isbecause I’m nervous that the 2 gallon buckets will not be sufficient enough forthe taller plants due to the limited space that their being grown in. After afew runs I will probably modify my bucket and switch everything over to 5gallons.

Ok so on to the nutes I use. I like to stick with general hydro for my baseand I love it to be honest. I notice that they are a little mag deficient when Iuse this formula so I just compensate and add cal-mag to the nutes. So duringmy veg I’ll use Micro/Bloom, Cal-Mag and Pro Silica. Then a tablespoon of H202per day. Also this is going to be myfirst time vegging and flowering using this setup so I’m very interested inwhat this can produce.

For my flower I will continue to run the lucas formula using G.H. for mybase. Then I will add liquid koolbloom from G.H. to the mix and run this forabout 2 weeks. Then week 3 I will switch from liquid koolbloom to moab or drykoolbloom from G.H. haven’t decided yet. Then toward the last 2 weeks I willswitch to overdrive from A.N. Also when I hit week four I will start to givethem bud candy from A.N. I would do it from the start but to be honest the bud developmentdoesn’t look like it would be affected because they are still very prematureand have plenty of time. Therefore I’ll introduce it in week 4 instead of week1. Also I’ve been using the Liquid light penetrator and saturator but I willstop the foliar spray in week 2 of flower maybe sooner if the bud developmentis good.

I will post pictures to give you guys a general idea of what they look like.

I appreciate any and all feedback.

Any comments, questions, concerns, or tips?

View attachment 1822165 The bottom 3 are the blue dream, The middle 3 are Church Valley, then the top left is blue dream, then the top middle is church valley along with top right.
I put them on 2x4's that I lined the ground with to keep as much water out of the bottom of the outter buckets, because they tend to keep a little bit of water if they arent elevated alittle higher then the controller bucket themselves.
View attachment 1822168 This is my controller bucket that I paid way too much for lol. But I think it will be quite easy to re-use it and build a 5 gallon controller with it, instead of wasting my money and buying another one.

I got the clones from a buddy who wanted to keep this plant as a personal strain and didn't want to let it out, but after some convincing and a few blunts later i had 5 cuttings and had it ever since, but im just tired of that same old smoke in my opinion. My brother loves it though. he'll sit on 2 oz of it for like 3-4 months lol. The guy told me that he purchased some seeds off nirvana's seed bank and I just didn't really care to look it up to look what the gens are, even though i should of a long time ago.

Then as far as the blue dream goes, I got that from a family friend who's been growing it for quite a few years. He obtained the strain through a seed bank.

Any pics?? Church Valley Kush? Never heard of that one, what's genetic makeup of that?

Ok so I just re-arranged my room, now I have a 1-1000-hps under the blue dreams which is a total of 4. Kind of an over kill? I hope not.. Then I have another 1-1000-hps under the Church Valley Kush which is a total of 5. They will be recieving a lot more light during the flower per plant, so I hope the yield will show for it. Just to make sure I have plenty of circulation in my room I added a 2x2 box fan in the room along with the 10,000 btu ac unit i have in there to regulate temperature. I hope if this run goes good to fill this room with about 36 to 42 pots of just the blue dream. The high off this stuff is just incredible, very long lasting and tastest just like it smells. I cannot wait to see them bloom.

its a 12Lengthx6Widthx8Heighth room. I have 3 rooms that are this size. So if this goes good I would like to put 3x1000-w hps in each room. The only reason why Im putting the thousands directly over the plants is because of the low number of plants I'm working with. I know that the spread of 1 thousand could cover 9 plants pretty decently (which is how I vegged them) So if I could I would like to try to put close to 30 plants per room. Depending on how the footprint of the light is possibly add another 1000 watt to equal 4-1000w per room. I've also been reading into these conversion cords that allow you to run 2-600w lights off 1 ballast. I've only seen this used using the mag ballastes and not the digi's. So this gave me an idea to use the flip box and just double up on the amount of lights im using per room. Then the flip box would come into use so that way instead of buying 9 ballasts or something like that I could go with 6 or 8 ballasts and save me money in the long run. So many different paths to choose! Now I've been reading quite a bit into your forum HR and I was quite curious on your 600's. Is your finished weight pretty good or do you think that it would be significantly increased if you switched to 1000's?

I wouldnt go to 1000 due to the heat and with 600 I get a better area spread of light! so in a 10x10 with x6 600 thats 3600watts
= a bit of over kill but in the end worth every watt:)

I completely understand the heat issue. Do you run ducting on your lights? I currently dont have heat issues at all since my ac unit is capable of bringing my room down to 70 degrees with 3-1000's burning. Also with the way my room is, its more narrow rather then equaly as wide as the length so I was going to just line the room down the middle with 3-1000w hps. In your opinion would this be sufficient?

Cool, thanks for the input I greatly appriciate it. As far as flowering goes. Do you think using the lucas formula from start to finish is a bad idea, reason why i ask is because they are being flipped to 12/12 today. I did also add Liquid Koolbloom to help induce flowering, then the usual cal-mag, silica blast, and h202.

lucas is just fine but in my opion change it just a bit to aviod a def. go to 5/8/16 ive found they need a bit of grow

I notice when you add 5ml of grow to it, it adds alot of nitrogen and potassium to the water. The Liquid kool bloom brings up the potassium and phosphorus. Since I'm not getting a nitrogen def. do you think replacing grow with liquid koolbloom would be sufficient or would you just go ahead and use it side by side? Sorry for all the questions I'm just relativily new to flowering with the lucas formula. Also I try to use this spread sheet to help me calculate exactly what goes in the water. I'll throw it up so you can take a look if you want. Thanks again HR, I really appriciate how kind RIU has been to me so far.

when you start geting into bloom is when you will see the yellowing, im not a GH expert but if it were me I would use the grow andkoolbloom as a sup

This is the link to the file, when you try to open it the website said it doesn't exist. So make sure you right click and put "save target as". Its the spread sheet that allows you go off luca's formula and also add in your own nutes and it will tell you the amount of n-p-k and alot of other trace minerals and metals.

Also I'll keep a bottle of grow handy, and check for def. daily for sure! But as of right now the only def. they had was from the lack of mag. which I heard comes from using RO water. My water is about 14 ppm so I just compensate and add cal-mag seems to fixed the problem. Haven't noticed any more leaves getting def.

:blsmoke:Ok so I put the girls under a 24 hour depervation test to help induce flowering alittle bit faster, the lights will pop on in a few minutes. I'll take a couple pictures to show you what the girls look like.
Already I notice about an 1 1/2 inches of growth on the blue dream from the lack of light, but the churches haven't streched as much probably close to a 1/4 inch maybe a half.
The reason behind the light dep. is because I had a close friend who's been running a few tests aswell and he's being able to finish his plants faster, roughly a full week, with same roughly same finish weight. And basically he asked me to leave the lights off for 24 hr before the 12/12 cycle starts. Since this will be my first time harvesting, I won't be able to say whether it benefited me or not. A few more runs and time will tell though. :blsmoke:

Funny you mention that, because he just put his new set in as he was getting ready to harvest, so to kill 2 birds with one stone he set the new girls in 3 days before he was going to harvest and left them in total darkness for 3 days. I don't why he's trying all these new methods, but I think its to help cut down on harvest time along with amount of electricity being used. Could be wrong just a guess.

I know a few people that do that and they also putem in 72hr of dark before harest to
