Default 120v/240v???
How do I know which voltage my house runs?

get a tester, or look at your panel where it is located it will indicate if it is 120 or 240, its more than likely 120v if you live in an apartment or a residential home. more homes are 120v

residential dwelling units (houses) are 120/240 volts im an electrician

just make sure the circuit breaker will handle the amount of amps and your set

Default 120/240
your house is definately 120/240 all houses areIM an electrician also so using the 240 tap is going to decrease the amount of amps or power consumption significantly!!!!

Not all houses are 120/240, maybe in the us and canada but in europe I think wall outlets are 220.

Ya. In the U.K our wall outlets are 240v .

so if i get a light that is made to work in the uk i can assume that it is 240 right?

can i use it in the us as well since you guys are saying that all houses in the us are 120/240
