I currently have 12 CFL's and the ability to expand to 24 if needed. But, I'm wondering about upgrading?

Is either HPS or MH good to use for both flowering and vegging?
Or should I stick with CFL for vegging and buy either an HPS or MH strictly for flowering?

I want to get the best quality and quantity out of my little operation as possible and I'm wondering if I'm on the correct path.

Either way, I'm going to need to buy either an HPS or MH for flowering soon, what should I go with? And are either of them good to use for the complete growing veg-flowering? Or would I have to buy two different setups, one for flowering and one for vegging?

buy hps for flowering, how much wattage of actual cfl do you have? i would keep all those 12 cfls for vegging or even upgrade to 24 as you said, then use a 250w+ hps system to flower

7 - 23w daylight
5 - 23w softwhite

I keep looking for 42w daylights and can't find the F'ing things anywhere.
walmart, lowes, home depot, target...noplace! All I can find are 42w "bright white" and the bright whites are like in the middle of daylight and softwhite so I don't think that's what I need.

How many plants will a 250w HPS flower?

23w will be ok if you get more, a 250w hps will flower about 2-4 medium plants. if you want to go more than 4 plants you will want a 400w or a 600w or even a 1000w to 1200w
