Default how many amps for a 400 watt light
how many amps does a 400 watt light use, the reason I am asking I was wondering if I could place two on a typical 110 volt outlet, which is usually like 15 amps I believe?
Peace!

Don't quote me but I think I read somewhere that a 400W lamp uses like 7.5 amps.

The formula is Amps = watts / volts.

So your 400w lamp, plus 100w for the ballast totals 500w / 110v = 4.55 amps.

You could put 2 on a 15 amp circuit, and have several amps to use for fans.
