6 weeks flowering, tested hermy premature bud

6 weeks into flowering today, thought I would test it out. Took off 2 tiny buds, 6 blades, smoked em, I feel really high. It is deffinitley a different feeling though, definitely more in the head kinda high. I assume the high will get better and more stoney as I hear, as I wait these next 2 weeks. None of the trychs are amber. I have some pics I took at 4 weeks, they have grown a lot in these last 2 weeks though, (first grow) just curiosity, will the buds keep growing fast up until harvest. Will they increase potency in these next to weeks quite a bit. Is that typical? Thanks for the replies, I will update pics later. Both plants have had male flowers form under lower buds, I picked them off, from what I tell there are a few seeds. Not nearly as much as I expected to have so far.

A few wks ago I started some clones made with seeds from a herme
plant. I would never do it again. Firstly no one told us the very im-
portant part of good ventilation. We are renting and cannot put holes
in walls. lol We have used just a fan....Ended up with leaf mold and
mildew. I have 2 distinct type of plants..One that is making buds and
the other style that is making more leaves than bud material.
This is a cross between savortooth and grapefruit bubblegum.
Also we didn't go to 12/12 till they were too big...some 3ft. We are
going into the sixth week. I took a sample at 5wks and it was a
waste. I microwaved it as some have written about and it took a
nice bud.and turned it too dry. Shrivled it up. I have noticed that the
buds are turning a light tan (with green)and have red hairs. What
would be a good way to dry for a sample? We are running 1000
hps..with both applications. I know I could use more light.

Hey do you by any chance know what strain your first picture is?? I'm growing from bagseed and one of my plants looks exactly the same as yours.

How did you dry your 6wk bud. I have read that you
can put in foil and set at low heat on oven. At 5wks
I wasted my time and used a microwave method
which just completely dried that pretty bud.........
and I felt nothing.

in my experience the easiest way to dry bud fastest for a test toke is to place bud in brown paper bag and set it in the oven on the lowest heat possible... if possible, keep the oven door cracked and keep a close watch that bag doesnt catch flame... this process takes about 30 minutes to 2 hours depending on heat variance

I dunno why your sampling the bud.....Isn't the plant still full of nutrients????? Just leave it alone until it is done and wasting pre-mature buds. Those buds you pulled off could have been 2x the size if u left them on the plant.

yeah and heating in the oven is def. not a good idea! you'll probably vapourise most of the thc by doing that anyway. The best way to dry bud is to leave it somwhere with good airflow at room temperature or just above that (on top of a sky box or something that gives out a small amount of heat). Be patient though, dont go picking off baby buds! the trichromes won't be fully developed and the bud wont even have a full flavour!
