Ok so In my room I decided to include a second light. The plants were in flower for 3-4 days max when the second light was introduced. As it would happen the timer on the new light malfunctioned so they were in fact recieving some amount of light 24 hours a day. I did not notice the problem for 18 days as no new hairs were showing. In other words they went from veg to flower (4 days) to veg (2 weeks) to flower. I have since corrected the problem but am worried that might turn hermy. Should I be worried? Any input as always is welcome.

uhh, i highly doubt they are "fine" right now. stressing the plant like that will highly raise the chances of hermying, so dont be surprised if and when it does hermie. usually ppl can get away with flowering, then revegging. however, since yours were flowered for such a SHORT amount of time and then thrown back into veg for 2 weeks then set to flowering again, its very possible they are stunted. the possibilities are delayed flowering (not by too long) and even hermying, itll probably finish but if it hermies this early then youre going to have some extremely seeded weed. if i were you, id plug both lights into the same timer if it can handle the wattage. usually timers have 2+ outlets, what kind of lights are you using?

Well that happened to mine and they were fine.

different strains react differently to stress, your plants arent his. at any rate, his plants will grow just fine with the exception of a POSSIBLE chance of hermying. ive seen atomic hazes hermie from getting extra light. ive seen other strains hermie from going back n forth like that, my buddy would grow like 10 strains at once and of course certain phenos will have hermie traits that will go off if you stress it the wrong way. there are lots of strains you can switch light cycles around with and nothing bad at all will happen, but it still poses the risk of hermying.

I too agree with the fact that dif strain react differently.

id put my money on them NOT hermying.... yea they got stressed out but i'd put my money on them not hermying cuz they were only in flower for four days and its not like as soon as u switch to 12/12 they start to flower... they grow vegetatively still for at least a week till they are induced into flowering... sooooo.... let us kno how they turn out maryjane and we'll see what happens...

im not sayin that there is no chance in them hermying.... but i jus dont think that the plant was too far out of the vegging state and too deep into flowering for it to be enough stress to cause hermying.

dunno about that, that was exactly the reason i think they WILL hermie. the time frame between veg - flower - veg is too short, not too long. keep in mind people reveg their plants after 55 to 75 day flower periods, and those plants dont hermie - even though they are 75 days into flowering, they still go back into veg w/o a problem. the problem here is the time frame is only 4 days, its sorta like turning the plant around - then turning it around again - and then again once more, you can imagine that might make it dizzy. then again, im very high and that was a really unscientific way to explain it lol.

who knows whatll happen, im sure itll be fine either way - even if it does hermy this early, there isnt any bud to get pollenated so nothing will happen. just make sure they stop producing bananas and its all good.

thanks for the input chrony. i thought much the same as i am gonna expect the worst from this situation.(and hope for the best) they are under a 400w and a 600w. i have replaced my timers with better quality electric ones and have tested them. let this be a lesson to all cheap skates- always dish out the extra money for products, you will save in the long run. thanks
for all your input people, i will consider all of it and keep ye posted. oh ya forgot to mention they are white haze, blue mystic , misty and some bagseed.
