i have just recently planted one of my seeds. i am us 2 small flourescents. for one plant how many watts should i have ? But wen my plants get older i want to get metal halides. where could i buy them ? and are they good for the flowering stage ?

use a mix of hps & warm 2700K cfl's for flowering .. home depot has nice hps fixtures comes with bulb & ballast for around 50$.. they are in the ourdoor & security lighting section .. usually not by the regular lights ... also if u have any hardware stores closeby , stop in & see what they have .. i just got two 150 watt cfl's 2700k ,, for 10$ each ,,from ACO

depending where you are in nc i dont know how far you are form nashville but they have a nice gro shop called all seasons but im sure there is probably one in knoxville or in asheville just depends where you are

metal halide lights wont be nessisary in your case. you can get away with flourecent lighting with red light spectrum for blooming. i have 8 beautiful plants blooming amazingly under a 8 light flouresent pro lite ballast. any cheap ballast would do though, just make sure you use blue light for grow and red light for bloom. trust me, it will save you money on the purchace as well as electricity. also they give off little to no heat so you can get your plants to within 6" even closer if needed without running the risk of burning them. ive never used hps or mh lights due to height restrictions in my grow room so i cant say cfl is as efficient, but they do a great job.
