How big of a sog could i grow with a 400watt hps?? In aproximetly a 4x4 grow area.

Humm.. Good question man...

Me 2 I am pretty much in the same delema.. I have a 400w HPS for the veg 8-16 and gonna use the same HPS buld for the 12-12 flowering. My height limitation would be aprox 4 to 5 ft max height. But what I want to do is the SOG with a chicken coope wire and having them lace threw it all at the same height. Was possibly thinking of 2 feet then the wire, have the tops clipped at the 3rd leaf sets. The strain i am growing right now is Blueberry and the other strain is grapefruite. Another thing also, Is that I sorrta lucked out, I have an additional 400w hps light system for the flowering that I am going to use..


Right now I have 14 plants and going 8-12 and I am planning on getting a new strain in the next little while. What I am hoping to to be accomplishing a 2 every is to harvest a cycle of different strains if possible.

Does this make any sense or can be accomplished whith what I have?

Theres only two stages for a sog correct? just vegg than flower?

imo 6, possibly 9 with a good reflector and good use of mylar/panda film.

I am using a 600 digital hps/mh for my sog and i am going with mroe plants less veg time.I am useing chicken wire with 1" holes.

Best thing I can advice is turn on your 400 watter and see how the light reflects down. then figure out how many 1 gal pots can you fit under there comfortably. Your obviously gonna start with a high number of seedlings (in solo cups obviously) cause you have to factor in that a good % can be males. (how big do you want your plants to be IE a foot or 2 feet) You just veg them to around 3 inches in hieght and then right into flowering right afterwards (thats if you want a foot tall plant)

Personally im starting with 30 plants under my 400 watter figuring that at least min of 10 will be males. that way I can have a nice sea of foot tall plants
