| | growing ideas and direction needed | | other than starting my seeds and clones indoors under a grow tube, I am an outdoor grower. The last couple of years i have lost over 80% of crops due to rips, cops, weather, animals, etc....I do not have my own land where i can protect my investment I am forced to seek other ways, atleast for now..
I know of a 2bedroom trailer available for $450 a month up in the country..i would like to rent this place out and start a decent sized grow op..The problem is I really don't know how much to expect per plant under how much light indoors...outdoors i could get anywhere from a 1/2 lb to 1lb per plant i know that is not true of indoors.
i'd like to get around 2lbs per month give or take.
basically, how do i accomplish this indoors?
thanks |

sounds like you will exceed the normal electric bills at this house. to pull 2 lbs a month you will need 4000 or so watts. most indoor plants will net about 2 oz or about 1 1/4 lbs per meter. this is just a guideline but also a realistic goal.
how how about all the cash for this hardware.??? |

in order to seriously achieve 2lbs/month, you're going to need atleast 2 1000watt HPS (preferably switchable) and 2 light movers. you can set up 2 huge patches of herb and have the light movers do their job on 30 second intervals. my buddy did 1 1000watt HPS + light mover and got about a pound off roughly 20 plants. in all honesty, you might be setting your sights too high for a first indoor grow - especially considering how much you're going to have to spend; two 1000watts are gonna be around $600 and then you have to factor in soil and nutrients for 50 plants. yikes, id get a single 1000watt hps + light mover and try to do about 20 plants. the thing is, with a light mover the buds might be fluffier and less dense. so youll average 1-2oz per plant. this is all subject to vary though, i agree with the above poster on his recommendation of 4 1000watts if you dont use the light mover.

| | well as far as the money goes either way i have to buy the soil, guano, crystals, etc.... so that'll be the same...all the indoor equipment would just be an investment that i am ready to make.. 5-6k on equipment is not going to hurt. i will however be able to skip the manual labor of digging 25 2'sft holes which is a HUGE plus, like i said i have been growing outdoor for quite some time, but times are changing....
what i am thinking about is what budsmoker said about drawing too much power in a 2br trailer..i do not plan on living there so it will only be a grow house... what kind of places do you guys recommend to do these grows?? commercial? say maybe rent out a garage or something? but then i would think 4000W consumption at 3AM would stand out..
My goal is to set something up away from my house. Have it be completely automated. i would only want to have to visit once a week or so. people say hydro is better for this..i personally would rather grow in soil but i would try organic hydro alternatives...
so let's say instead of using 2 1000W in the flower room say 4x8 (? sounds like enough going by the comments) i use 3 600W 12/12 would that be good enough ?? in the veg/clone room say 2 400W 18/6 plus the clones would have their same setup i have now shelf system with grow tubes and humidity boxes.. these are just me thinking outloud |
