might be a dumb question...but when the plant is in the flowering stage does each bud/flower need light to grow well...or as long as most of the leaves get light,this is the main factor in the develpment of great buds...where ever they are located on the plant

each bud needs light, as much as possible and everywhere you can safely get it.

they dont usually get equal amounts though.

cfls are cool for getting up close but dont reach but an inch or so pastthe bulb.
they are nice for side lighting or lower buds, especially if you have a good hid overhead.

hids have great light pennetration but get pretty hot.


as a rule of thumb for me... get more light.
